'Tis true, what they say, when you have an issue (or issues) of your own,the best thing to do is help someone else. It really does take your mind off of what you're concerned about, and normally, the problem or issue works itself out. This past Thursday evening and Friday morning, I did a service project. The project wasn't anything great or momentous, but taught me this lesson well. God has been showing me lately what things and areas in my life that need improving. One Proverb says, remove the dross from the silver, and out comes silver for the silversmith. In order for dross to be removed, silver is heated at an extremely high temperature. Finally, the dross floats to the top, and the silversmith can remove it easily.

Do something good for someone else...
Sometimes when things in life get really uncomfortabe, or "the heat is on", its very easy to question why God is allowing what is going on to happen. But it's in those moments of "dross removal" in our lives that God is making us more pure, and more usable. It's in hard times that true character is exposed, and God can reveal to us what we need to work on changing. When I was working on the project, I had a lot of time to refelct on my attitude and behavior in light of what has been happening in my life. I learned that through conflict, I am made better if I chose to learn from, and not resent the hard times that come my way.
In other news, I worked my first wedding this weekend! I'm keeping my promise NOT to turn this blog into a wedding blog, so click here if you want the full scoop! I have a feeling this job will be an amazing learning experience!
Goodnight friends!

I agree with you 100%. God has used ever difficult time in my life to make me a better person, and more useful to Him.
