I know that there's an Art to starting over again.
Knowing God will never waste the pain.
You can only try so hard to right a wrong,
This song will only last so long,
Life is just the Art of living on.

The Art
Wow.
Tonight was incredible for me because I came to a wonderful realization.
Those of you who know me well, know that i've had to deal with some hard situations over the last few years in my personal life. (hard is putting it mildly, but i'll leave it at that)
Forgiveness has been a hard thing for me to swallow. I'll think that i'm over something, and then i'll hear a name, or a song, or see something that reminds me of what I thought I was over, and i'll get upset all over again, which to me says that I truly hadn't forgiven the person or situation involved.
There have been a couple of things that I have had a REALLY hard time letting go of- but these past few months, God has working on my heart, healing me bit by bit.
I heard a quote once "You can have a better life because of what happened to you than if it didn't."
Our past cannot be re-written. Most people spend more time regretting their past than living in the now, or planning for their future. There is always a lesson learned in everything- going along with the 80/20 concept I wrote about before, we can't seem to see the good in a bad situation, but there is TRULY always good.
Let your "mess" be your message. Learn and grown from situations you don't like. Most importantly, chose forgiveness. You will never feel like forgiving, it's something you have to wake-up and chose every day. You have to make yourself do the right thing by forgiving.
Forgive and forget, I don't know if I believe that's the best way. Forgive, for sure. But don't forget- learn and move-on. Call upon your experience and see how much better your life is because of it.
I don't mean to babble, but I want to officially let you all know that tonight was amazing for me because I reached a really great turning point. Ask me about it, if you want more details. I am just really happy and excited.

I've had to deal with some big forgiveness issues in my own life. In both cases I chose forgiveness, and it was very freeing. We should talk about it sometime...
