What is is about other people that we as humans are so obsessed with?
Why do we care so much about the good and bad things going on with other people?
I would bet that most people spend more time focusing on other people, than internal reflection.

I'm just as very curious as to why this is.
Take celebrities for instance. Our culture for the most part (with a small group of exceptions!) care to SOME degree about their favorite celebrities lives and happenings. Even men care about their favorite quarterback, coach or Nascar driver.
Some people get VERY carried away with this curiosity. That's a fact, but my pondering today is why??
Do we obsess about other peoples lives to avoid dealing with our own? Or do we do it because we have a genuine concern for them? And at what point does it become non-productive?
At one point or another, we have all been victims of gossip and having people talk about us behind our backs. I have done it to others, and I know it's happened to me. I have been thinking lately personally about the power of my words, what I'm saying, confessing and ultimately believing about other people. It says in James, the tongue is like a small spark that sets the whole body on fire. Our mouths have so much affect on our lives! We truly aren't aware of how much our words can make or break a situation.
Today, try keeping track of what you're saying, who you're saying it about, and why you're saying it. I'm making my "lion" for today (and always) to be edifying in my speech life. So keep me accountable!!
Thanks!
