Rants and Raves

Today's Rants:

1. Why is it that no matter what store you go in, no matter how few items you purchase, you recieve a foot-long receipt? Today I bought a pack of gum and a magazine at Wal-Mart and got a receipt as long as my forearm. Is this necessary? Companies are "going green" but they must be using enough paper to wall-paper the White House each day on receipts alone.
2. Speaking of Wal-Mart, I always see an interesting variety of people at Wal-Mart, but have you ever been to BUTLER Wal-Mart?? Takes it to a whole 'nother level of ... interesting. I was volunteering at a donation collection table and the only people who talked to me were very, how should I put this, well-seasoned men (really old). I must have forgotten not to wear my "Hey, if you're old, come hit on me" t-shirt featuring a stressed out tweetie bird on the front. Oh wait, I think I saw that t-shirt for sale in Wal-Mart when I was buying my gum...
3. And to finish my rants, which all have to do with my time at Butler Wal-Mart, the last ten minutes of my shift doing donation collections for the Butler LHOT, it started POURING. The parking lot turned into an ocean and I half expected to see Noah float by in his ark. My hair which prior to this occasion was pleasantly curly had turned into a Tina Turner 'fro in a matter of moments. My clothes were soaked and when I made it to my car, after sitting in my seat for a few moments, realized my sun roof was slightly open and my seats were soaked as well. Not that it mattered because it looked like I jumped in a river anyways.

Raves:

1. After said incident at Wal-Mart, my boss gave me permission to go home, change and work from there.
2. I cooked a really great spaghetti bake for dinner.
3. I am finally starting to feel better after being sick since Friday.
4. My magazine (bought at Wal-Mart) was not ruined in the rain storm.
