So, this week has been...interesting at best.
I started re-reading "Better Single Than Sorry" by Jenn Scheft, former bachelorette from the hit NBC series "The Bachelorette". GOOD TIMES!
I bought this book awhile back and really enjoyed it the first time. Reading it again, I have found that i'm picking up on things that I didn't before. I am in a completely new place in my life!
You know what i'll never understand, people who date for "fun". I am not criticizing them, I just will never understand them! What is "fun" about casual dating?! I know lots of girls like me, we talk about meeting "the one" and aren't interested in dating around for kicks. However, I was recently encouraged to "flex the dating muscle" and had decidec to give it a semi-try.
BAD IDEA JAIME. I just have found that I am way too monogomous to be playing the field. That sounds so old school, I realize. But honestly, I am. Some times I wish I could be like that type of girl. But that's just not me.
Lots of people judge me and my motives on a daily basis. I have been called a goody-two-shoe (which, btw, what does that mean? in comparison to a goody one shoe??? *tangent alert!), a tease, picky, snobby....the list goes on. Those judgements sometimes hurt me, especially when they are made by people who barely know me.
Here are the facts:
1- Yes, I have standards and I don't think lowering them will make anyone happy in the long run. (both parties considered!)
2- I am really, in all actuality, a shy girl when it comes to guys! I don't know why, but the MOMENT I feel comfortable, the fun-loving Jaime is there to stay.
3- I don't see a point in dating for "fun". There is nothing fun about being involved with someone, to any degree, and either person being hurt. Hurt does not= fun.
This is a ramble of a blog, but I thought i'd share my thoughts. In conclusion, dating is an interesting phenonmenon that some people are really good at, I just don't happen to be one of them!
