80/20....
What is that about? I recently learned a new concept, a new way of looking at life, a new perspective.
The 80/20 concept is simply this:
Our expectations are RARELY met in 100% entirety. I will not speak for you- i'll just say that my expectations have never ever been met 100%. I'll say most times, 80% of what I expected to happen will happen, and 20% won't.
As humans, its part of our nature to focus on that 20%- we wonder why that 20% alluded us. Was there something we could have done differently? Could we have changed the outcome?
THEN I tend to plot and ploy new ways to obtain the 20% I didn't get. ALL THE WHILE, there is a glorious 80% of blessings and favor that I am simply disregarding. This concept is similar to the glass being half-full or half-empty.
All i'm saying is this, I am resolving to appreciate the 80%'s in my life. I am a blessed person, with amazing true friends, a really fabulous family....the list goes on and on.
Who cares if I never get 100%? God always blesses us with good and perfect gifts. He knows exactly what I need, when I need it, and He always provides.
Try applying the 80/20 concept in your life. It's really cool to see how much of what we expect really DOES happen. It's also cool to see how the 20% we think we lack is normally a blessing in disguise.
Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I really like the quote at the top of your page. That's one of the things the principals always tried to have us focus on while teaching at Eden. It really puts things into perspective when you realize that you're not just teaching for the day, you're teaching children lessons for a lifetime. It helps to think of that as a parent too... I like your 80/20 idea too.
