Our small group is doing a study called "In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day"--yesterday's discussion was really great! It encompassed our perspective on life. Those situations that we panic over, the insurmountable problems and dramas that make our life seasoned with dread.
What if....
we decided to look at life through God's eyes, not our own?
What if...
we trust- not just say we trust--but truly trust that God has it all under control, and that His plan is truly good and perfect?
What if...
we believe the scripture that says "All things work together for the good of those who love him and are called according to His purpose."
Last time I checked- All meant EVERYTHING. If all works out, then so does everything. Which means that no matter what comes my way, God is still God. Somehow, someway, that situation is good. What a relief to know that I don't have to have it all figured out.
God can take care of that, and I can take care of being thankful for every situation that comes my way...So, today, at Danimals suggestion, I am listing 3 things that I am thankful for.
I'm going out on a limb and trying to think of creative things:
1- I am thankful for my dad. This is not cliche- my father is one of the most amazing men I have ever met. I think he is the most amazing one, actually. He gives so much to so many people and is forever looking at the positive things in life. And he bought Beth and I a wireless router today, came up on his day off, and installed it. All without me asking. He is my hero.
2- I am thankful for rain. This is a big one for me. I really don't like rain. It makes me sad, it makes me want to sleep, it reminds me of sad things. But I realized today, rain is vital. It sustains life- and rainy days make me appreciate the sunny ones all the more. So I am thankful for the contrast.
3- I am thankful for this blog. It provides for a fun outlet and allows me to think things through, then share them with you all. (all 2 of the people who read it!)
