Before 9-11, traveling by plane was my favorite way to travel. It would not have mattered to me if I was traveling from New Wilmington, to Grove City Outlets, if I would have had access to a plane/chopper in college, that's how I would roll up to my favorite discounted stores.
Travel is something I enjoy immensely. I wouldn't say it was a passion, because I don't think I do it enough to qualify for it to hit that status. However, I have long enjoyed traveling the world, and have been to over 10 countries last time I checked (including Monaco, the smallest country ever. --I think.)
There is no mode of transportation I have not tried. I've flown, ofcourse, but have also traveled by train, boat, car and bus. I'd still say planes are my favorite. That is, until I went to the Bahamas/Colorado. First my Bahamas experience. Do I seem like the terrorist type to you? Do I fit the profile of a risky traveler? I didn't think so either. However, at each and every check point, I was "randomly chosen" to be practically strip searched by security gaurds. This is an uncomfortable situation, especially because other travelers feel the need to glare at you as your legs and arms are spread wide by neon colored wands. As if i'd be carrying something hostile!!
Next stop- Colorado. Leaving Pittsburgh, I had my make-up bag in my carry on, AND my perfume. With no problems at all, the friendly TSA workers passed me through security in a breezy fashion. Upon leaving Colorado, I had those some items in my carry-on. Not good. The guards TORE through my carry on and lap-top case, to discover and confiscate some VERY risky items. My Benefit concealer, Maybelline mascara and worse of all--my Bath and Body works minty lip gloss. However, they FAILED to take my tweezers. Good thing they took all my liquid make-up, and not the sharp pointy tweezers from my possession. Mascara is a killer! Remember that.
You may be asking where this rant is coming from--well tomorrow i'm flying out to CA for Mary and Bryan's wedding. I am SO excited to go out there, but I just hope that I make it in one piece, unviolated by security, and with all my make-up in hand.
Well, my luggage is too heavy, so I best go remove 10 lbs so I don't have to pay my first born child for extra pounds!Ciao Bellas!
