When I was little, my sisters, mom and I (and a couple "kindred spirited friends") developed a tradition that I still love. Anne Days.
<--Anne and Gilbert, the "it" couple you couldn't wait for to get together! For anyone who has never seen Anne of Green Gables, or Anne of Avonlea you are sooo missing out! I could watch this series time and time again. When the weather was ever gray, dreary or rainy, My mom would make a nice pot of tea, some warm chicken noodle soup and me and my sisters would all settle in on the couch for a movie marathon. And so began the tradition of Anne Days. I'm not really sure where my brothers went at this time- perhaps exiled to their rooms? Or maybe sent to their friends...it didn't really matter to us!
Tradition is so important! It made me smile today when, as I was driving to work, my mom sent me a text that said "Today is an Anne day." Even technology can't change the obvious! How I wish I could just take the day off work, and head home for some quality time with my mom and sisters. It's a good thing that Anne days are sure to come again soon! And for all of you Anne fans, this just happens to be the 100th anniversary year for Anne of Green Gables. Click here for all the news!
