Today in church we had a guest pastor. I love hearing the different things speakers talk about- I love the different styles, uses of media and little grains of truth that can be life transforming. Our guest speaker is a wonderful man from India who works for a huge Christian ministry. He travels all over the world for his job, yet some how managed to come and share what's going on in his life at our little church in Upper Saint Clair.
The sermon was AMAZING. And just what I needed to hear. He spoke about Christians and how we often expect God to move in miraculous ways (which is not wrong!) but that's all we do. We sit, and pray, and think and journal and talk with friends, but when push comes to shove, we don't take ACTION. Our faith shouldn't be passive, rather our faith should cause us to be inspired to press toward the goal. Even if you're unsure, Do it Afraid. I loved what he had to say about failure. Failure is not a final destination, rather it's a mindset. When we fail, it's an eliminated option, but our goal is STILL an available option.
This week, Do It (whatever your "it" is) Afraid.

I am so sick of people doing nothing bc they are afraid. But the truth is - I am afraid too, which of course leads to inaction, the exact opposite of what God wants us to do. Inaction and fear are Satan's tools to keep Christians from being effective. May we all be released from this hold!
