Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

I'm not just talking in metaphoric terms...

We all know I LOVE Pittsburgh. That is a moot point. I can't even tell you how many people I talk to who, let's say, live in the South Hills and consider driving to the North Hills a day's journey. It's not PEOPLE. Work with me here!

Even worse, those people who "never go downtown." Total blasphemy!

Here are the most common myths debunked about going downtown:
1. "It's too far away/takes too long.
In all reality, if you live in the suburbs, it will take you TOPS 30 minutes to get to Pittsburgh.
2. Pittsburgh is too crazy and confusing. And MUCH too big.
Pittsburgh is NOT like going to Los Angeles or NYC. It's really a quaint area, and its fairly easy to navigate. There are so many amazing things to do in town, and you can discover more new things every day.
3. There is nothing to do around Pittsburgh.
FALSE
For instance, yesterday I went to the Frick Mansion, only to discover there is an original Monet painting on display in the house. Does anyone realize how amazing this is! The Frick also offers concerts the first Friday of every month in the summer time on their lawn. Our tour guide told me that people get really into it, and bring fancy picnic baskets with real china and linens. How classy can you get?

So, get out of your comfort zones and head to the most glorious little city this side of the Mississippi!
