I may not be typical. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm not. I have really weird habits and pet peeves (uneven blinds, non-symetrical anything, shower curtains that are left open, etc etc etc). So this story may be one that most of you can't relate to: The story of opening my first bank account.
I am odd in the sense that I always knew that I wanted to have a National City bank account. From the time that I was about 12, I wanted to bank with NC! When I turned 16 and got my first job at Bridgeville TJ Maxx, one of the very first things I did after getting my first paycheck (which prob. amounted to about $12 after taxes) was march across the Great Southern Shopping center and open a checking account. I'll never forget that fateful fall day, I was most likely wearing some unfortunate corduroy pants with a cropped sweater and clunky brown boots.
It is with great sadness I am closing my National City account. They were recently bought by PNC and First Niagara. My account was supposed to be transferred to First Niagara (who has ever heard of that bank??) So I opened a PNC account this afternoon, and I sorta felt like I was being unfaithful parking in the PNC lot.
To Nat. City: You have been a faithful friend these 9 years since I opened my account. Thank you for not charging me NSF fees, for giving me a really cute debit card, and last but not least, your rewards program! I will miss banking with you. <3 Jaime
