GRE

Should stand for Generally Really Exhausting.

Seriously, wow! I feel as thought I have done some great physical feat, when in reality I am just drained intellectually!
I'm gonna throw it out there-- I strongly dislike standardized tests. ALOT. It all started when I was a wee las(ps-when I typed in "wee lass" on google images, this doll was an option, so I took it!) I remember dreading the CAT (California Achievement Tests). I should have known those were a walk in the park compared to the awfullness that was the SAT and the ACT.
Yes, this blog is a rant on standardized tests. Did you know that when you take your SAT, it does NOT measure what you really know. In fact, the SAT is the worst measure (in my opinion) of what a high school student learned. When you get an answer correct, you are given one point. Logical, I don't dissagree with that method. However, if you get one answer wrong, you are docked 1/4 point. So if you get one right, and four wrong-the one right is canceled out! Thus, not really showing what you really know. The ACT is not so bad, as you are not penalized for wrong answers.
I think the fact that Grove City College rejected me on the basis of my SAT/ACT scores has only fueled the fire in me! I was a good student all through High School (Valedictorian!!! lol, yes, in a class of 2 but still! Valedictorian!) , I was involved, I worked a couple jobs--yes those SAT/ACT scores were what was looked at. C'est la vie--I loved Westminster anyways!
=)
All i'm saying is that standardized tests are not my strong point. I hope my GRE scores are decent, but if not, I will not EVER take them again!
