Today I woke up the earliest I have in a long time! 6:45 am. Now before you scoff and think nothing of that time, realize that I work at a very relaxed non-profit, and also that I live 15 minutes away, and I encounter no traffic on my way to work. Most days, I can semi-sleep in.
But when a close and wonderful friend asked me to accompany her on a early morning walk through North Park, I seized the day, and met her at 7:30!
What a nice time we had, chatting about life, and all its complexities. What I liked about our walk this morning was there were no distractions. We weren't in a movie theatre, or restaurant, yelling over the noise to talk to eachother. We really had a nice heart-to-heart. It was so peaceful in the park, barely any cars, nothing around except the other early rising walkers/runners.
Our conversations covered a wide gammet of topics, it was just nice to open up with someone and share what has been going on in my life lately. I have really started to appreciate the simple joys that life has to offer. It's not about what you have, it's about who you love, and who loves you. Those loyal and trustworthy friends, those amazing family members and those early morning walks in North Park.
