From the moment I started working at the Lighthouse, I really disliked the HUGE OAK DESK in my office. My office is really tiny, the tiniest of all the officesat the LH. We all have the same desks which were donated by a big bank. I'd imagine if you have a 21st floor office in Pittsburgh these desks might be appropriate. At the Lighthouse, ehhh that's debatable.
The desk took up literally 3/4 of my floor space. Ironically, people like to gather in my office. I kid you not, at one point I had one boss in my "guest" chair and my other boss sitting on the floor indian style in my doorway. It was a surreal moment.
About a week after I started working, I asked about the possibility of removing the oak desk and using the other desk as my primary desk. Yes this 5x5 office had two desks! The request was met by the sound of chirping crickets.
Well eventually I just gave up and stopped asking....that is, until some offices were being moved around this week, and one would need a desk! Eureka!! The big moment! I finally had a VALID reason for the desk to be moved.
Tuesday was moving day for many people. The Bush's, the Obama's and The Lighthouse. I now have my office almost the way I want it! I'll be painting soon, but I have so much floor space i'm considering the following:
1- A tap dance floor (for when I need to get up and move, naturally)
2- A cafe style table and chairs (a little touch of Paris bistro in Butler)-just typing Paris and Butler in the same sentence is comical
3-An indoor jacuzzi (Beth wants one for home, but why bother? We are both here more than there)

If you push a mountain long enough, it will move

as much as a jacuzzi sounds nice, I am a litle scared to see some "jacuzzi" gear at the lighthouse. Doesnt sit well. A bistro would be a welcomed addition. Nice fresh pastry and coffee, that would be good stuff. So my vote is for the bistro
