Get out while you can Jon and Kate!

I, like many of you, love watching the show "Jon and Kate Plus 8." I have a special interest in them, as I am one of eight children. While there are no multiples in the Carter Clan (yes, we have been called that since I was a wee tot), I still feel like I can relate to them!

All the news and scandals involving the Gosselin's is making me really sad. The rumors of affairs and unfaithfulness have become the latest gossip fodder for many magazines and tabloids. It's awful what the media can do to the establishment of family!! (whole other blog)
I have this plain and simple advice for Jon and Kate:
GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!
As much as I love their show, I can't help but recall what reality TV has done to countless marriages/relationships. (Britney and Kevin, Nick and Jessica, Shanna and Travis, Carmen and Dave, Hulk and Linda, Bobbi and Whitney...the list goes on. Although many of these couples had issues regardless, i'm sure America watching them play out didn't help matters by any stretch of the imagination!)
I can't imagine my family being taped all the time and a TV show being made about us. It would prob be a soap opera, not even a witty feel-good show like J&K+8. Seriously, think about how you grew up- Not that my childhood wasn't wonderful, but think of all the personal stuff that happens in life. Would you want it on TV?(if you are Beth, don't answer this....xoxo Rooms!)
If I were Jon and Kate, i'd evaluate what really matters, which is keeping their marriage strong and drama-free, and raising their eight amazing and beautiful children. Yes, America is amused by the family antics, but at what cost to them personally?
It's not worth it....

I agree. It is sad that very few marriages last after the media and the tabloids sink their claws in to them. I think the tabloids actually just make things up to create drama. They wreck marriages for other people's enjoyment.
