Promised commentary on moving...

This weekend was the big move. Some thoughts:

1-Six on one hand, half dozen on the other. A phrase I don't want to hear again any time soon. Who thought of that phrase? And why is it so overused? And most importantly, why is the meaning really not applicable in most circumstances? To me the phrase means "It's the same either way." Am I right, or am I right?

For example: When choosing where to put a piece of furniture between two different spots in a room, DON'T say "It's six on one hand, half dozen on the other...." just don't. Bc is doesn't apply! There is a DISTINCT difference between spot A and spot B. If I had to count how many times I heard that phrase this weekend, it would be approximately 53. So yeah, don't say that phrase to me! Ever!
2-And another thing, who thought of the term "Window Treatments"? What are the windows being treated for?? And why are they so expensive? And why again, are they called window treatments? My mom and I went sleuthing for some and that was a fun break in the weekend, but the questions lingered for me....why are they called treatments?
3-Finally, people accumulate ALOT of things over time. My family did get rid of a whole lot before they moved, but there were still SO many boxes. Ever the optimist, my mom said "Wow, we have a lot of stuff. I guess that's a testament to God's provision over the years, because we really haven't spent alot of money on what we have." The move went pretty well- i'm thankful my family is safe and sheltered.

I don't think I've ever gotten window treatments. They're too expensive. I just buy curtains! I don't wash my windows, so why would I treat them :)

A few comments:

1. Where is the comment link on the post above about shady dudes? I have many opinions.

2. Do you want Coke or Pepsi? To me (me personally), it's six on one hand, a half dozen on the other. I guess you could say 12 on one hand, a dozen on the other. But if that's the way you feel, its the way you feel! Maybe not applicable to furniture, I will grant you that.

3. Of course, if it was your dad who said it about furniture, and your dad is a normal dude that doesn't care about placement of furniture, then he's allowed to think they are the same. That's just a fact.

Josh-
I don't know why there is no comment link! That's so weird. You can comment on this post in the mean time....not sure what is going on!
