Do any of you remember the jail birds in Walt Disney's "Robin Hood?" I was trying to talk to Beth about them this past weekend on our fall teen trip.... You know, the part when Robin Hood is trying to break Friar Tuck out of the jail?? The birds are patrolling the jail yard and each time the clock strikes a new hour, the bird would proclaim: "It's 4:00, and all's well!!"
Beth and I had a little RA de ja vous as we did rounds at the fall teen trip. After we mae a round, I said that phrase to her, and she looked at me like I was nuts! And so started our conversation about Robin Hood, and guess what?! She has NEVER seen the animated version! I am shocked! I would have thought she was like every other child, and seen this classic. I sense a date night with her and Nilla soon, watching this movie.
Anyways- lots of emotions are running through my head and heart today. Working the polls yesterday was an awesome experience, and I was excited to be apart of a historical and unprecedented election. Those of you who know me well, know where my political values lie. I value the sanctity of life, and am passionate about many other issues. I also don't profess to know everything about politics. It's something I try to stay informed about, but I know there is a lot to learn.
I am SO EXCITED that many polling places experienced record voting turn out--that says a whole lot about the American people and their understanding of how important this election was. It should ALWAYS be as busy on election day as it was yesterday. I am not the type of person to fight with others about what I believe. I believe what I believe, and that's enough for me! I urge people to find issues they are passionate about, and learn about them and why they are important. Nothing bothers me more than a person who votes, but has no clue why they are voting, or worse, what they are voting for. Trendy voting=not good. or cool.
Many people are happy about what came out of yesterday's election, and many people are scared, sad and disappointed. Regardless of the outcome you may have desired, there is peace in knowing who is watching over us, our country and our leaders. This morning when I came outside, the sun was shining, and nature was silent and majestic. In that moment, I was affirmed in my belief that it's all good!! It's a (near) 70 degree fall day, and "all's well."

I work with a group of serious Obamaniacs. I knew when I came to work today they would be ready to pounce on me. I went into work with a smile on my face and said, "I had the biggest surprise today....the sun came up this morning!" That broke all the political tension...for a while. To be continued, I'm sure.
