This Black Friday, you would not find me waiting in line at Wal-Mart. You would not find me at Ross Park, South Hills or Robinson mall. No, you would find me antiquing with my mom and sisters. And I didn't even have to travel to Volant, Columbiana or Ligioneer to do it!
Coraopolis (my new home town I suppose) has the most quaint little antique shop i've ever seen. We spent the afternoon exploring and enjoying the best vintage clothing, furniture and yes, even costume jewelry. It was by far the most enjoyable Black Friday i've had. I was appalled when I heard a man lost his life in a New Jersey Wal-Mart from 200 people trampling him. Seriously. That is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. To me, nothing is worth:
a- getting up at 4 am or earlier for
b- trampling a maintenance man at Wal-Mart
What has this world coming to?? I talked to a couple different people and NONE of them had gone black Friday shopping this year, and all had the same attitude about it: Not necessary. Don't get me wrong, I am a bargain shopper and I love to get a deal, but I did notice most stores were offering the same sales online as they were in their physical locations. And with free shipping. But I didn't even shop online this weekend! I'm proud to annouce I didn't spend a cent this Thanksgiving weekend, except to purchase the ingredients for green bean casserole, my contribution to the fanily meal (which I am happy to announce was a big hit!) Instead I baked cookies, helped my mom undecorate (Fall) and recedorate (Christmas), wrote Christmas cards, played Wii with my siblings, read a whole book, and babysat my little Donovan. It's been so refreshing, and i'm sad that it's now Saturday night. Where do the holidays go??
I'm just thankful for my friends and family this Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for a roof over my head, and for all the blessings I have already! I am anticipating a wonderful Christmas as well...
I hope everyone else had a blessed Thanksgiving holiday!
