This past weekend was our girls retreat at The Lighthouse. This is my third retreat i've participated in, and each one, I love more and more!
But there is something about an all girls retreat that is extra fun! We started out by going to Pittsburgh to see "High School Musical" on ice! Beth is a champ. She fearlessly drove the LH bus(that's a feat in and of itself!)
There are so many moments I thought to myself "I have to blog about this!" but top 10 from the weekend are:
1- Vern and I talking on the bus before we left, and one little girl named Anastasia *name changed for privacy* said to us "You know if you leave this bus running for a long time, we'll run out of gas." (she is 5 I think)
2-Gemma* wearing a purple gown with dress shoes to see HSM (she was stylin' and profilin')
3-Beth driving the van through an alley that was approximately 3 feet wide, with cars parked all along the sides of the road. At one point, indeed, I got out of the van to direct her down the precarious alley. Indeed, the van was wedged between a pole and a grand am's rear viewmirror. But, like a champ, Beth managed to not damage the car. The pole fell over.
4- Leon's little face, when he realized he was the ONLY boy on the bus going to see HSM on ice. And his face after it was over! I've never seen such pure joy.
5- Purchasing five bags of popcorn and dividing it among 18 people to share during the show. Passing trays down one-by-one to each person!
6- Going through the Wendy's drive through in the van, ordering six of everything on the dollar menu. And passing it out one by one to each kid! And Leon raising his hand for each item I called out!
7- Watching Hairspray and Cheaper By The Dozen with the girlies--and sleeping on an air mattress with Beth!
8- Having girl talk and discussing true beauty, journaling and the way God view's us with all the girls who slept over.
9- Heather's breakfast casserole/Patti's breakfast goodies! SO YUM!
10- Last but not least, being apart of each one of those young girls lives. Being able to spend time with them, and making (I pray!) an impact on their lives for the better.

What great role models those girls have in you and Beth! I am proud of you both.
No doubt Beth got a few driving tips for the LH bus from her Uncle Mike!!!
