If Your Life Had a Soundtrack...

What songs would be on it?

No seriously, think about it. I don't know anyone who doesn't love music. Since I am presently watching the Grammy's, I feel inspired to blog about music. I love what music does-I love how music makes me feel. When I have no words (a rare occurrence), it seems like there is always a song that seems to capture all the emotion i'm feeling.

There are songs that the moment you hear them, your whole outlook changes. Those timeless songs that you love the first time you hear them, and each time after, you appreciate something new and different about them. That song that may even DEFINE something for you, whether it be a moment, a summer, or a lifetime. And every time you hear it afterwards, you feel the exact way you felt the first time it came on.

Music has a power that not many things have--it can change a mood, solidify a memory that is being made, or just make you feel happy. Imagine watching you favorite movie without the musical score.....

Not that it would ruin it, but music add so much to the equation. Joe Wright's version of "Pride and Prejudice" is my favorite movie, hands down. Jane Austen is a literary genius, but that's a whole other topic for a whole other day. The music in that movie PERFECTLY suits every scene. If you've seen it, you know what I mean. The scene where Darcy and Elizabeth FINALLY confess their mutual respect and love--they meet in a foggy field, early in the morning, right before dawn. As Darcy walks towards Elizabeth....the music swells in a way that nearly brings me to tears, every single time I watch. It's awesome. AND when i'm listening to the soundtrack in my car, I can picture exactly what is going on in the movie for each song. AMAZING.

Back to my original question, what would be your soundtrack song be for life right now?? Mine would be Leeland "Sound of Melodies"-Think about it, it's fun.

I LOVE this blog! I have always said, "My life is a musical". I burst into song many times throughout the day. Right this moment, my soundtrack is "Don't worry, be happy" :)
