This past weekend I had a unique opportunity--I was invited to a true to the core, girls sleepover for ages.....18 and up.
It gets better!!
The woman hosting the party is from Hyderabad, India (sp???)==she is all sorts of interesting! She and her husband uprooted themselves a little over a year ago,and moved to Pittsburgh. They are now members of our church, and I am so thankful that they are. Pearl and Alex Ghanta have opened my eyes to culture and so many other things I never knew I didn't know about.
Alex works for a major Christian ministry full-time, and his work often takes him out of the US--so what does Pearl do when he's gone---throw a big party!
We ate genuine Indian food for dinner, dessert and breakfast! It was awesome! One of my favorite parts of the evening was t
rying on genuine Saari's from India.
What a unique culture they have! These dresses are what some Indian women wear every day! I guess they aren't down with rolling out of bed and wearing your PJ's to run errands.
I just loved the colors and details each Saari had, and it was really cool because each of us chose a Saari that perfectly suited our individual styles and personalities!
It's always fun to experience new culture, even if it is right here in Pittsburgh, Pa.
